A Kiwi icon in the garden! Like kiwifruit are to pavlova, and jandals to summer, Tui Certified Organic Sheep Pellets are the perfect partner for your plants.
Containing all natural pelletised New Zealand sheep manure, Tui Sheep Pellets are a Kiwi garden staple.
A by-product of the NZ wool industry, the raw material for sheep pellets goes through a pelletising process which generates heat up to 110 degrees C, so that weed seed present in the raw material will not germinate after this treatment.
The secret ingredient in sheep pellets is wool!
- Earthworms love the lanolin in wool and drag it down into the soil.
- This aerates the soil so plant roots thrive and improves soil structure preventing soils from becoming waterlogged.
- Earthworms convert the wool into humates to nourish and replenish the soil.
- The nitrogen in sheep pellets stimulates soil microbes that go to work breaking down organic matter, releasing nutrients into the soil for plants to take up and flourish!
Sheep pellets are so easy to use and can be applied year-round directly onto the soil.
In summer you can fill a nylon pantyhose with sheep pellets and soak in a bucket of water. This liquid can be applied directly to plants, continue topping the bucket up with water. For an extra boost, add seaweed to the bucket!
Try either the 5kg bag or the convenient 1.5kg Mini Sheep Pellets this season.
