Merlyn's Breakfast Smoothie

This delicious smoothie is packed full of exciting flavours and is great way to use up your fruit harvests. Thank you to Merlyn for sharing!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 large Banana
  • 1 yellow Plum
  • 1 small Pear
  • A few berries (blackberry, blueberries & raspberries)
  • 1 stalk Celery
  • handful of spinach or silverbeet (optional)
  • 1 Brazil nut
  • 1 tsp Chia seeds
  • 1 tsp Sunflower seeds
  • A dollop of Greek Yoghurt
  • Top with cold water from the fridge

Please note: the original recipe stated Karaka berries, this was referring to a variety of blackberry called Karaka Black, not the native Karaka berry, which should not be eaten.

Blend all ingredients together with a stick blender or similar.

Tip:

  • To give your smoothie an extra boost, add in a tsp of multi-vitamin powder and 5 drop of Zinc.

  • Hi Veronica, the recipe was referring to a variety of blackberry called Karaka Black, not the native Karaka berry, but we have made a note above to ensure no further confusion. Thanks for getting in touch - Jenna - Tui Team

  • I made this and on the 2nd time I changed the berry mix to Blackberry, Boysenberry and raspberry and instead of the pear I used honeydew melon and it was really nice and refreshing..
