    Maureen

    • Thank you very much for a great recipe, we have plenty of feijoa and are always looking for new recipes, this is one of the best

      Rod

  • yum sounds great will bake this tomorrow with my feijoa cupcakes!

    michelle

  • This is very similar to a Fejoia cake I make. All ingredients the same except instead of coconut and almonds, I put in the same amount of cut up fejoias plus 2 x large raw apples chopped roughly, plus a teaspoon of mixed spice. Makes quite a large cake and can be used as a pudding also. Cheers. Enjoy.

    Ruth

  • Will make it for expected visitors tonight. Thank you :-)

    Anna

  • SCRUMMY BUMMY. I've made Feijoa and Coconut cake before, but never with the topping variation - the almonds and sugar. This makes what was a yummy cake into a SCRUMMY BUMMY cake!

    Kim

  • I have cooked this twice in the last week. A cake thats worth making. One comment was that it looks and tastes like a proper cake one you would get from Moore Wilson! The first time I cooked it the middle was a little under cooked even though the skewer came out clean, so cooked the second a further 20mins and put a thin knife through the middle to test and it was perfect and very very yummy. A real crowd pleaser. Good way to use feijoa surplus esp the small ones from your tree :o)

    Rosina P

    • Yes same, so the next time I used a bigger tin and it was perfect! Yum yum, is definitely a regular now at our house in feijoa season!

    jenna

  • Will be trying that recipe this weekend sounds delish lots off fejoas sitting on the bench thanks everyone

    Valerie

  • I make feijoa loaf but this sounds yum will def try

    Michele Sievers

  • Have heaps of feijoas. Have you got any recipes that does not contain heaps of sugar. Your Feijoa and Coconut Cake sounds delicious but it has 1 cup of sugar in it. Not only am I a diabetic but also I am losing weight, have already lost 4kgs.

    Colleen Hansen

  • Hi Colleen, we haven't tried this but with other recipes it often works if you cut down the amount of sugar e.g. half a cup instead of one cup. If you need more sweetness you could add some honey instead. Thanks, Jenna - Tui Team.

    jenna

  • i made this. its super delicious.

    margo kyle

  • That's great! Thanks for your feedback Margo. Jenna - Tui Team.

    jenna

  • 1 cup of sugar!

    Susie

  • If you want to cut back on sugar by all means do so it will still be great. DONT make up with honey...thars just adding more sugar!

    Hazel

  • I am going to make the cake with Splendour instead of sugar.

    Wal Britton

  • I made the cake yesterday and it was delicious. I am not a good baker but my children loved it.

    Paula

  • Hi Paula, that's great to hear. Thanks for your feedback. Jenna - Tui Team.

    Jan

  • Hi Jan, thank you for your feedback, we will keep this in mind.We hope you enjoy cooking this yummy cake! Jenna ^Tui Team

    jenna

  • This recipe is even better if you soak the coconut and milk together for at least 30 mins.

    Maureen

  • This sounds fantastic, going to make it this afternoon. I've go feijoa's coming out my ears, given loads away. I don't like them off the tree, too perfumey for me, so looking for recipes.

    Sharon Milligan

  • Thanks for the tip Maureen! We hope you enjoy your cake. ^Tui Team

    jenna

  • Hi Sharon, fantastic, we hope you enjoy this cake! We've got a number of other feijoa recipes on our website you can check out too. Happy cooking ^Tui Team

    jenna

  • Awesome cake!!! looks impressive, moist and tasty!

    Dina

  • I thought it is too much but it is perfect! not too sweet.

    Dina

  • This will be great for an after dinner treat!

    Patricia

  • I made this cake following the exact receipt with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and it was delicious! Although next time I’m going to add just a bit more coconut.

    Graham

  • Can anyone tell me if the recipe is fresh coconut or canned coconut? Or is it desiccated coconut? One tip for reducing sugar is to replace some of it with chopped up (small) dried dates or figs. I did that recently with my feijoa muffins and also added half a banana (mushed up). The were great : moist and tasty .

    Debbie

    • Hi Debbie, we used desiccated coconut for this recipe, but you can use thread coconut. Thanks for the great tips on reducing sugar in the muffins, that is very helpful.

      The Tui Team

  • Absolutely delicious I made one which lasted one sitting and have had a request for another 👍😊

    Ann Johns

  • I have made this cake three times in the last week - given two away and eaten one myself. Absolutely yummy and so easy to make.

    Helen Butcher

  • I have visitor's coming tomorrow, so I will make this to have with coffee. Thank you.

    Pamela Steenstra

  • Hi, do you think this would freeze? I want to make it while I have feijoas for a upcoming birthday in June and freeze until then. Ta.

    Delwyn

    • Hi Delwyn, none of the Tui Team have frozen this cake, it has never made it to the freezer! You can freeze the feijoa pulp until it is required, scoop out 5-6 medium to large feijoas (approximately 1 cup of pulp) and place in resealable plastic bags, freeze until required, thaw and bake.

      The Tui Team

  • Absolutely delicious!

    Kate

  • I don’t care for feijoas so will replace it with rhubarb.

    Rhoni

  • I made this, it turned out absolutely beautifully moist.

    Diane Rowe

  • Absolutely incredible cake. Seriously. I have a cake business and this is the best recipe I've come across. Thank you!

    Rose

    • Thanks Rose, what a great recommendation, so glad you liked it. We love it too!

      Lianne

  • Sounds delish!!! Might try with mixed wholemeal and white flour on the pretense that it will be healthier!!!!

    Lyn Foster

    • Hi Lyn, it is definitely one of the best feijoa cake recipes we have tasted, let us know how you get on with your "healthier" version.

      Lianne

  • Cake looks amazing

    Shirley Rulete

  • We will add this to our Feijoa recipes and will definitely make it. Our favourite Feijoa recipe at present is Feijoa Ice Cream - delicious!

    Gillian

  • A great recipe to use up the usual glut when they are all ready to use at once. Cordial is also good for the remnants. Wasting nothing! :)

    Ann

  • Excellent cake which I have made over and over- I have replaced the the sugar with baking stevia. (A little bit less than a cup for a cup though to prevent the after taste - though my husband loves the stevia taste).

    Sonja

    • Hi Sonja, thank you for the tip about substituting Stevia for sugar.

      Lianne

  • This recipe sounds good. I shall try it.

    Mary Frances O'Connell

  • This Feijoa and Coconut cake is the best cake I have ever made. My husband loves it too. Hoping to make many more. It looks just like the photo.

    Kerrin Mazey

  • Loved this recipe! Perfect with yoghurt.

    Sarah

  • Baked this in a too-shallow tin and had some overflow which baked into crisp biscuit-like blobs—happy accident! Excellent cake!

    Ana

  • Great recipe. I made it gluten and dairy free and it worked brilliantly. I topped with lime buttercream, which was delicious. Was appreciated by my colleagues.

    Kerryn

  • Baked this lovely cake recently adding extra feijoas from my garden. Absolutely delicious and also freezes well!
