Q.
Hi, why are leaves falling off my lime tree? It was only planted in the ground recently and it's about 2 feet high?

Hi Carolyn
Limes prefer heat and will drop leaves if temperatures drop – where in NZ are you? The leaves falling are probably caused by transplant shock, especially if it has come from a nursery or a warmer temperature to a cooler temperature. Feed it weekly with Tui Organic Seaweed Plant Tonic at a rate of 70ml per 9L watering can. This will help the plant if it is stressed. Once the tree picks up reduce it to fortnightly or monthly. Tui Seaweed and Fish is also good for limes, it is rich in nitrogen and also has humates to stimulate soil microbes to improve soil health.
Thanks, Tui Team
