I laid a lawn in Early November and it looks like it needs some help. How soon can I start fertiliser and is Tui Seaweed Plant Tonic ok to use on new lawns?

Hi Kelvin, it is usually 14-16 weeks before applying fertiliser to new lawns but if using a specialty fertiliser such as Tui LawnForce New Lawns, it is safe to use when sowing and can be applied to newly sown lawns like yours. It also contains seaweed but it wouldn’t hurt the lawn to apply Tui Organic Seaweed Plant Tonic.

In summer when lawns are under stress due to heat and drought a liquid fertiliser is always more gentle such as Tui LawnForce Max Green – it also contains seaweed and comes in an hose on pack. The lawn is too young to use this year, but it's something to keep in mind for next summer.
