How long do I let my pumpkin runners grow before cutting them?

Q.

How long do I let my runners grow on my pumpkin plants before cutting them?

guy thorn

A.

Hi Guy, aim to let your tendrils have at least 5 to 9 flowers on each section before removing the tips from them. To get the most out of your pumpkins, spread compost and/or sheep pellets around the growing tendrils, as each tendril will put down roots intermittently along the stems. Then give them a good drenching of water at least once a week over the summer months. Happy growing!
