How do I use Tui Seaweed Plant Tonic when repotting my lemon tree?

  Canterbury
  December

Q.

Hi Tui, I want to to transfer my lemon tree to a bigger pot as I have just brought it. I have purchased a bottle of Tui Organic Seaweed Plant Tonic and a bag of Tui Citrus and Fruit potting mix. It says to soak the plant in the tonic, does that mean the whole plant or just the roots of the plant? Thanks.

Hi Stephen, when repotting or planting, mix a solution of Tui Organic Seaweed Plant Tonic at a rate of 30ml per 5L bucket, and soak the root ball in the solution, you don't need to dunk the whole plant. If the plant is already in a pot, and depending upon how manageable the root ball is, you could water the plant in its existing pot with the seaweed solution and then repot, rather than removing the plant from the pot, dunking it in seaweed solution and then repotting. Once the plant is in its new pot water it in with the remaining seaweed solution. The Tui Team.
