How close to my lemon tree am I able to plant a lime tree?

Q.

Hi Tui, how close to my lemon tree am I able to plant a lime tree? I currently have my lime tree growing in a pot and would like to transplant it next to my lemon tree.

Hi Wally

It depends on the size of the trees. For dwarf or semi dwarf trees the minimum spacing would be 2 to 3 metres apart. If they are standard trees, then they would need a spacing of 3 metres plus. If the trees are too close to each other they will compete for water and nutrients, which will reduce the crop.

Thanks, Tui Team.
