Q.
Hi Tui, do tomatoes like/need lime?
Fay brooks
A.
Hi Fay
Tomatoes like lime as it provides a good source of calcium. Lime also improves soil structure, encouraging decomposition of organic matter and earthworm activity, so it is fine to add to the soil where tomatoes are planted.
Tomatoes however also need potassium for maximum fruiting and flowering, therefore we recommend Tui Tomato Food or Tui Enrich Vege, Tomato & Herb controlled release fertiliser, which are specially formulated with all the nutrients tomatoes require, including higher levels of Potassium (K).
Thanks, Tui Team.
